ABDUL RAZAQ CANGARA

Abdul Razaq Cangara is a lecturer and researcher in the International Relations Department at Hasanuddin University. He is also Editor-in-Chief of the Hasanuddin Journal of Strategic and International Studies (HJSIS). He holds a Bachelor’s degree in Political Science from Hasanuddin University (2011), and a dual Master’s degree in International Relations from the University of Indonesia (2015) and the University of Melbourne, Australia (2017). His works focus on Indonesia’s foreign policy, foreign policy analysis, and diplomacy. His recent projects included studies on maritime diplomacy (2020–2021), economic diplomacy (2022), and cyber diplomacy (2025). With his expertise, he was invited to the National Workshop on Indonesia’s Foreign Policy, organised by the Centre for Strategic and International Studies (CSIS), in 2019 and 2024. He is also the AAI 2025 Foreign Policy Short Course Awardee, hosted by Griffith University and sponsored by DFAT Australia, which enables him to transform his career to include policy-oriented work.
